Barker goes for all-out attack

WITH Dino Ndlovu, on loan from SuperSport United, cleared to play and Collins Mbesuma returning to action for Mpumalanga Black Aces, coach Clive Barker is spoilt for choice ahead of tonight's Nedbank Cup clash against Maritzburg United.

Instead of having to leave one out for the other, the former Bafana coach will throw Tendai Ndoro into the mix for an all-out attacking line-up with Ndlovu and Mbesuma also starting at Mbombela Stadium.

"We've had a bit of a crisis and it will be the first time we are able to play three strikers. Dino is not 100% fit, but will play a part in the game even though he will not complete it. We are working at getting his weight down, and given a couple of weeks he's going to be fine," said Barker.

The former Maccabi Haifa man was unavailable for Aces' two league games after the PSL told Aces the striker had not been handed a clearance by SuperSport and could not be loaned out to two different clubs in one season. He remains the property of the Israel club.

However, the Dispute Resolution Chamber ruled in Amazayoni's favour to register Ndlovu earlier this week.

The recent slump aside, Barker said the Nedbank Cup was an ideal opportunity for Aces to have something to show for a well-assembled team.

"I think we could have a good run in the cup because I don't think there's going to be too much pressure on the players. I would be surprised if we didn't get into the next round because this is the perfect opportunity to show what this team can do," said Barker.
