Premiership table-toppers Kaizer Chiefs and Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich have set themselves apart in the major leagues around the world as the only undefeated teams at the halfway mark of the season.

Yet to lose in their respective leagues, Chiefs are flying high with 14 wins and four draws, while Bayern have 14 wins and three draws.

Chiefs trail-blazed their way past opponents through the first-half of the season and with the league going into the Christmas break, they ensured the year would end on a high.

In what is considered the best league on the African continent, Chiefs have been otherworldly in the last few months.

It is an impressive accomplishment for the Amakhosi to stand toe-to-toe with the Bavarian heavyweights, as the only two log leaders yet to taste defeat.

Chiefs' superiority was evident right from the start as they blitzed their way to 12 successive wins in the Premiership.

In their final league match of 2014, Chiefs overcame tricky Mpumalanga Black Aces with a hard fought 1-0 win at the FNB Stadium, on Saturday to end the year on 46 points.

Meanwhile in Germany, Bayern's dominance was exemplified in their most recent league match when they came from behind to secure a 2-1 win over Mainz 05 last Friday.

Unlike their counterparts in some of the leagues considered the best in Europe, the five-time Uefa Champions League winners under the guidance of coach Pep Guardiola have yet to be floored.

In the English Premiership, log leaders Chelsea have one loss, 12 wins and three draws so far this season. In the Spanish La Liga, Real Madrid are on top despite two losses and 13 victories.

Italian Serie-A champions Juventus have one loss, 12 wins and three draws in quest to defend their title.

French Ligue 1 front-runners Marseille have a record of four losses, 13 wins and two draws.

In the Portuguese league Benfica have lost once, won 12 and drawn one, while in the Dutch Eredivisie leaders PSV have lost two, won 14 and drawn once.
