AJAX Cape Town's lack of a cutting edge up front was there for all to see in the weekend's goalless stalemate with SuperSport United, but they will at least welcome back top scorer Thabiso Nkoana for the visit to Bidvest Wits tomorrow.

AJAX Cape Town's lack of a cutting edge up front was there for all to see in the weekend's goalless stalemate with SuperSport United, but they will at least welcome back top scorer Thabiso Nkoana for the visit to Bidvest Wits tomorrow.

Despite spending much of the first half of the season in second place in the league, now slipping to fourth after the weekend, only University of Pretoria (12) and bottom side AmaZulu (10) have scored fewer than Ajax's 13 goals in the current campaign.

They do have the fourth-best defence, the reason for their lofty position, but with just three points separating them and Polokwane City in eighth, coach Roger de Sa is going to need his forwards to start coming to the party.

"We are disappointed we did not win the game but we had a couple of chances where we should maybe have wrapped it up," De Sa said.

"But with the injuries we have I thought we did pretty well so. we carry on. We didn't lose, fortunately, and I think SuperSport are a great side. Disappointed, but at the end of the day it's a good point too."

Tomorrow's clash with the Students at Milpark Stadium at 7.30pm features two sides likely to be in the running for African club competition places come the end of the season.

Gavin Hunt's side will be hoping to continue where they left off at the weekend where they pipped strugglers Free State Stars 1-0.
