Hunt hopes clever boys have turned the corner

IT HAS been three months without a win, with no reprieve in sight, until Bidvest Wits beat Free State Stars last Saturday.

Now, with their tails up, the Clever Boys go into tonight's match against Mpumalanga Black Aces at Mbombela Stadium looking to truly put their dark patch behind them.

Coach Gavin Hunt said in scoring two goals and keeping a clean sheet against Ea Lla Koto, his team had remedied rickety areas of their game that had led to the patchy spell.

Chris Katongo, along with Sameehg Doutie, netted one of the goals but Hunt refused to declare the former Jomo Cosmos hitman's revival after just one goal.

"I wouldn't say he is scoring but he's scored one goal. Let's see after he scores 10," said Hunt.

"Overall, we made a lot of silly errors in our previous three league matches and we didn't convert our opportunities," he said.

Clive Barker, whose team went down 2-1 to City last weekend, welcomed Mabhudi Khenyeza back from the sanatorium, who seems likely to partner Collins Mbesuma in attack. "We are in much better shape personnel wise for this game," Barker said.
