Spreading SA soccer identity

THE SA Football Coaches Association (Safca) has unveiled a National Playing Philosophy (NPP) following an intense research and consultative process.

The NPP's aim is to unite coaches and players countrywide to use the same coaching syllabus and methods.

In a statement, Safca said it "will embark on a roadshow that will cover the 52 regions of Safa where coaches will have an opportunity to further engage with the NPP".

Safca's technical adviser Ted Dumitru said there was need for a viable coach education programme that focuses on the youth.

"There can be no doubt that a well-structured youth programme that speaks directly to the coaches and players of this country will make a huge impact," he said. " The inspiration is derived from some pockets of previous experiences that produced internationals from our country."

Safca's president Greg Mashilo added: "Our intention to transform Safca from being a dormant organisation to the one that develops and empowers coaches and players alike is on course."
