Liebenberg keen to impress Michell

RYNO Liebenberg has it all to fight for against Eleider Alvarez here on Saturday - the promoter of the world champion will be ringside to watch him up close.

Liebenberg defends his WBC silver title, but the real prize is the WBC world light-heavyweight crown held by Adonis Stevenson.

And Stevenson's promoter, Yvon Michell of Canada, will be at ringside.

"Look, I want to kill him [Alvarez]," the tough-talking South African said in Monte Carlo yesterday.

"He is in my way to get to the top. I know that Alvarez is a very good and polished fighter but this is a winnable fight."

Liebenberg said every fight had its own pressure.

"It will stay like that until you get to the top. But I am getting used to pressure. My preparations went very well," he added.

His stablemate Hekkie Budler puts his WBA and IBO strawweight belts on line against Xiong Zhao Zhong, the former WBC champion from China.

"I hate the last week of the fight because it gets into you," said Budler.

"I can't wait to fight."

Their trainer, Colin Nathan, said: "Happy fighters perform very well. The spirit in my camp is unbelievable. I am actually excited that we have so many people behind us - our own people, who flew to be part of this event.

"My fighters know what is expected of them and like I said before we departed on Saturday, we will fly the South African flag higher here."

The tournament has been dubbed Title Tornado.
