GOLDEN Arrows coach Shaun Bartlett believes the club is slowly silencing critics who do not believe they can return to the Absa Premiership next season.

Arrows, who are one of two unbeaten teams in the National First Division, moved to the top of the standings after they secured a 1-0 victory over struggling GaRankuwa United at Chatsworth Stadium on Saturday.

Their fourth victory of the campaign was sealed by a Tebogo Masaole strike in the 10th minute.

Bartlett's men are on 15 points, while Cape clubs FC Cape Town, Milano United and Vasco da Gama are close behind on 14.

"It's good that we kept the momentum. It was a difficult two weeks because we had the Fifa international break. We got one chance and we converted it," said Bartlett.

"A lot of people have written us off, but we are proving everybody wrong. I told my players that it does not stop here. We still have a lot of games to play. We have to keep winning our home matches if we want to win automatic promotion."

Third-placed Milano surrendered top spot on Friday after they were edged 2-1 by Cape Town rivals Vasco at Philippi Stadium.

Thanda Royal Zulu continued their good start to the campaign with a 3-0 victory away to Cape Town All Stars on the same day.

On Saturday, Black Leopards hammered bottom-of-the-table side Maluti FET College 5-0 at Thohoyandou Stadium, while second-placed FC Cape Town were held to a 1-1 draw by Baroka FC. African Warriors and Witbank Spurs, meanwhile, played to a goalless draw at Charles Mopeli Stadium.

On Sunday, Jomo Cosmos won only their second match of the season, beating Santos 2-0 at Vaal University of Technology. Highlands Park were held 2-2 at Makhulong Stadium by Royal Eagles.
