Banyana friendly moved

THE international friendly between Banyana Banyana and Zambia, which was scheduled for Limpopo on Sunday, has been moved to Lusaka.

Safa has announced that She-Polopolo have indicated to them that they would no longer be able to travel to South Africa.

Zambian FA president Kalusha Bwalya, who is based in Johannesburg, said: "It was just an arrangement that we play in Lusaka.

"We could have played them anywhere. We are happy to play such a strong team as Banyana Banyana. It will be very good test for She-Polopolo."

SA and Zambia are using the match to prepare for the ninth African Women's Championship finals in Namibia in October.

Banyana Banyana coach Vera Pauw is happy the Zambians agreed to go ahead with the game.

"It is unfortunate Zambia could not travel to South Africa, but thanks to the support of Safa and our sponsor Sasol we are able to still play the match," Pauw said.

"We are happy we can play a stronger nation as this will help us to test our strength ahead of the championship in Namibia."
