POLOKWANE City coach Boebie Solomons says he hopes to make major changes to his squad in this transfer window and is looking for at least six new players.

Solomons would not reveal names, telling Sowetan it would be "unethical" to talk about players contracted to other clubs, but did reveal the positions he is hoping to fill.

"We are looking at bringing in a central defender, a left-back, two central midfielders, a right-wing and striker," Solomons said yesterday. "Nothing has happened yet and we are in negotiations with a few clubs, but hopefully we will be able to announce something soon."

Winger Jabu Maluleke is one name that has appeared in media reports, along with his teammate at SuperSport United, Mogogi Gabonamong.

Former Ajax Cape Town and Moroka Swallows left-back Lizo Mjempu played in a friendly match for City against United FC on Tuesday, in which former Bidvest Wits and Matsatsantsa midfielder Mark Haskins also featured.

Two reported targets have already eluded them, though.

Orlando Pirates midfielder Manti Moholo has signed on loan for Lamontville Golden Arrows, while Mamelodi Sundowns winger Raymond Monama has completed a loan move to neighbours University of Pretoria.
