World Cup 2014 ball now on sale

The name of the FIFA World Cup 2014 ball has been known since September 2012, when it was determined by around one million Brazilians who cast their vote in the naming process. According to Adidas, Brazuca embodies Brazilian pride, with its vibrant swirl pattern, including green and blue areas matching Brazil's national colors.

Brazuca, the ball that will hit Brazilian stadiums next summer during the World Cup 2014, was unveiled by Adidas last night with great fanfare. Fans can now purchase their own Brazuca ball in select Adidas stores or at the website www.adidas.com/worldcup.

To celebrate the launch of the ball, Adidas threw an elaborate party last night in Rio de Janeiro. Attendees including football stars such as Cafu, as well as Brazilian tennis champion Thomaz Bellucci, were able to view an impressive 3D projection of Brazuca created for the event.

The FIFA World Cup 2014 ball is available from December 4 at the price of €140 for the official version or €30 for a replica.

In Brazil, babies born on December 3 will be eligible to receive a free Brazuca ball.
