SOUTH African soccer's coaching merry-go-round continued yesterday with Serbian Vladislav Heric quitting National First Division side FC Cape Town.

Club manager Edward Grey confirmed the well-travelled Heric has resigned as coach of the club, who are languishing at the bottom of the log.

The club has collected only two points from the five league games they have played.

A replacement for Heric, who has also coached Black Leopards and Bay United, is expected to be named before the end of the week.

Heric joined FC Cape Town in January after quitting Polokwane City who at that time were still campaigning in the NFD.

In another development, former Orlando Pirates and PG Rangers striker Ian Palmer was yesterday confirmed as new coach of Chippa United.

The 47-year-old Palmer was head-hunted by the Chilli Boys after Mark Harrison left to join Golden Arrows on Monday.
