PREMIER Soccer League players Kennedy Mweene, Joseph Musonda and Davies Nkausu are all in line to play against Brazil later this month after being named yesterday by Zambia for their prestige meeting with the 2014 World Cup hosts.

But Zambia coach Herve Renard pulled a surprise by also including Mamelodi Sundowns' new signing Mukuka Mulenga and Orlando Pirates striker Collins Mbesuma in his 26-man squad for the match, which is being played in China on Tuesday October 15.

Mulenga has recently aggravated his ankle injury at Sundowns, while Mbesuma's knee problems have sidelined him for weeks at Pirates, with his return to action not expected for several more weeks to come.

The timing of the international friendly, halfway across the world, poses a potential problem for the players to get back to their clubs in time for Telkom Knockout quarter-finals matches on October 19 and 20 should their respective teams get past this weekend's first-round matches.

But of the five South African-based players, only Mweene is a regular at his club.

Mweene has taken over as the first-choice goalkeeper at Sundowns, but the 36-year-old Musonda - who recently passed the 100 cap mark for his country, has yet to play for Lamontville Golden Arrows this season.

Fullback Nkausu, 27, has featured in three of the club's six matches played so far this season.

The squad also includes five players formerly with PSL clubs, including veterans Chintu Kampamba, Noah Chivuta, Chris Katongo and James Chamanga.

Rodger Kola also had a brief spell at Arrows.

The match is a prestige invitation for the 2012 African champions, who missed out on World Cup qualification last month after losing away to Ghana in their final group match.
