SOUTHERN Kings head coach Matt Sexton says he will have no problem picking his players up for Saturday's showdown against the Stormers even though his team has already been consigned to the promotion/relegation matches against the Lions.

Some claim the Kings' final two Super Rugby league matches against the Stormers and Sharks in Durban are now meaningless and that the only games that matter are the showdowns against the Lions at the end of the month.

Asked if it would be difficult to motivate his players for the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium clash, Sexton said: "Not at all, because we have a fantastic occasion ahead of us against the Stormers."

The Kings disappointed in their last outing against the Bulls when they lost 48-18 and will have to dig deep into their resources if they want to get back on the winning track.

"There have already been 25000 tickets sold for Saturday's game so it looks like it will be a decent crowd. There can be no better occasion than playing your last home game in front of your own crowd and I have no doubt that the occasion will lift the guys," Sexton said.

He said the Kings had been working hard on their lineout drills after they disappointed in that area of their game against the Bulls.

"We had errors with control in the lineouts. It was a whole gambit of stuff and it was poor execution," Sexton said. "But we have worked hard on that and it was a good wake-up call for us."

The Kings have named an unchanged starting line-up for Saturday's clash, with the only change on the bench, where lock Steven Sykes takes the place of Rynier Bernardo.
