KAIZER Chiefs defender and former captain Jimmy Tau's future with the newly crowned Premier Soccer League champions is still uncertain, but a meeting with coach Stuart Baxter is likely to clarify his role going forward.

Tau's agent Jazzman Mahlakgane said Chiefs' management have referred the player to the Englishman who will decide whether Tau fits in to his plans for next season.

This was after a meeting between Amakhosi and Mahlakgane, who also represents Itumeleng Khune, Siphiwe Tshabalala and Tefu Mashamaite at the club.

The right-back, who has also captained Orlando Pirates, broke his ankle in the final league match of the 2011-12 season against AmaZulu.

At the beginning of the recently concluded season, Tau tore ligaments in his knee and did not play in any of the official games.

"The meeting between Stuart and Jimmy will take place in the next few days because Stuart is going away on holiday next week," said Mahlakgane. "Subsequent to the meeting between Stuart and Jimmy, I will meet Chiefs general manager Bobby Motaung. Jimmy is an experienced player who can still add value at Chiefs."

Motaung, who is responsible for the signing of players at Chiefs, could not be reached for comment.

Meanwhile, defender Vincent Kobola is on his way out at University of Pretoria, with newly promoted Polokwane City most likely to be his new home next season.

Mahlakgane confirmed that he will meet AmaTuks next week to discuss Kobola's future at the team. The defender joined the Tshwane club from Jomo Cosmos at the beginning of last season.

" ... I know there are several clubs who are also keen to sign Vincent, but I will go there and hear what AmaTuks have to say."
