Chidzambwa, Makhubele out

TECHNICAL director Sunday Chidzambwa and coach Abel Makhubele have been shown the door after Black Leopards were relegated to the National First Division.

This occurred 48 hours after Leopards chairman David Thidiela told Sowetan that he would be retaining the two coaches in the new season.

The about turn happened after a meeting between Thidiela and the two coaches in Polokwane on Monday night.

"We had a meeting with the two coaches on Monday to do a postmortem of what really went wrong and prepare for life in the National First Division," said Thidiela yesterday.

"It was at that meeting where the three parties reached an amicable solution to part ways. The other thing is that their contracts were due for renewal. We (the board) have decided to go out and look for people with fresh ideas to take us back to the Premier Soccer League," said Thidiela, who is expected to name a new coach next week.

"We are going to build a new team. There will be some players that will be retained and there will be those that will not be with us in the new season. With the support of MTN, I have no doubt Leopards will finish on top of the NFD log next season."

Some of the influential Leopards wanted by PSL clubs include Rodney Ramagalela, Raymond Monama and Mongezi Bobe.
