AmaTuks' stars warned

GOOD JOB: AmaTuks coach Steve Barker
GOOD JOB: AmaTuks coach Steve Barker

PRETORIA University coach Steve Barker has made an impassioned plea to his players to think carefully before they jump ship as several face decision time over their futures in the next few days.

Top scorer Mame Niang said he had five different offers to consider and would make a choice in the next week. He is expected to sign for Orlando Pirates after a comeback season in which he scored 10 goals.

But Barker says players must think carefully about their choices after Tuks finished the Premier Soccer League season with a 1-0 win over Kaizer Chiefs at the Mbombela Stadium in Nelspruit, and grabbed a place in next season's Top 8.

"We've been working hard to try and retain the players we want to keep for next season but ultimately it is the players who must make the decision," he said of the several loaned players in the AmaTuks squad who played a major part in a successful debut season.

"... I just hope players have the sense of mind to make the right decision."
