MAMELODI Sundowns' billionaire president Patrice Motsepe has pumped just over R30-million into schools' development soccer over the next three years.

The money will be donated to the Kay Motsepe Schools Soccer Cup tournament.

Motsepe started the tournament in 2004 in honour of his late mother.

"My mother and father were teachers before venturing into business.

"They were highly involved in school sports," said Motsepe.

Motsepe donated the money to the South African Schools Football Association through his family foundation and Sanlam, yesterday.

"Schools doing well in this tournament benefit greatly in terms of their needs."

The overall winners will take home R1-million, the runners-up will receive R600000, while the third and fourth- placed teams will get R500000 and R400000, respectively.
