SOUTH African soccer legend Innocent Mayoyo is training goalkeepers through his development programme.

Mayoyo has started the Ayobayoba Youth Academy, which is also organising workshops for amateur coaches and team managers. The former Orlando Pirates goalkeeper will conduct a workshop organised by Benfica Soccer Sporting Club in Benoni on February 23.

It will take place at SAP sports ground in Main Reef Street, starting at 2.30pm. Eleven coaches and managers have confirmed their attendance.

"We still invite people to attend. Interested coaches and managers must contact our club for further information," said club chairman Dilshaad Ally.

Mayoyo, who also played for Real Rovers, Bush Bucks, Ria Stars and Moroka Swallows, said: "I have decided to focus more on the training of goalkeepers because that is my area of speciality."

Meanwhile, Discovery Vitality and the Royal Netherlands Football Association have once more formed a partnership to host a series of football coaching workshops in Gauteng, KwaZulu-Natal and Western Cape.

The coaching clinics provide South African coaches with the opportunity to extend their abilities, skills and knowledge to then coach young footballers.

Schools can register for the workshops by emailing vitalityschools@discovery.co.za or calling 0860-109-939.
