CAF draw favours Bucs

ORLANDO Pirates have been handed an easy start to their African Champions League campaign and will play opposition from the tiny Comoros Islands in the first round in February.

But SuperSport United start their Cup Winners' Cup campaign in tricky Democratic Republic of Congo where they meet CS Don Bosco of Lubumbashi in the first round. The draws for the two 2013 African club competitions were supposed to have been released by CAF on Sunday but were only made public a day later.

Pirates will host Djabal from the Comoros, who have only been playing international football for the past five years, at home in the first leg on the weekend of February 15-17 with the return legs a fortnight later on the weekend of March 1-3.

Djabal are from Iconi on the main islands of the small archipelago and will be making their debut in continental club competition. Should Pirates win they will take on opposition from Zambia or Swaziland in the second round.

SuperSport's opponents are also making their debut in continental competition. The winner plays Petro Atletico of Angola in the second round.
