Motsepe set to break silence

WITH Mamelodi Sundowns stuck at the bottom of the PSL log with just six points, club boss Patrice Motsepe is getting antsy.

Even though he refused to be drawn on possible reshuffles, Motsepe said he planned to have his say soon.

"I think it's inappropriate to talk to the media as the time is incorrect. My talking may send all sorts of messages to people who need to focus on the team's performance. And so I wouldn't want to say much except that we will be making announcements as we go forward, in relation to the team's performance," said Motsepe.

"We are not where we are supposed to be as a team and that obviously is a source of great concern to us. Lots of work needs to be done to change things and I can guarantee you that all of us at the club are working to change the current situation."

Motsepe has been uncharacteristically reluctant to comment on developments at the club.

But with the team rooted to the bottom, he is finding it increasingly difficult to keep mum.

It is Sundowns' worst start in PSL history. They have won only one of their past 10 league games.

Despite little sign of improvement, Motsepe has stuck with coach Johan Neeskens, who admitted he is battling to motivate his players, who he says are "afraid" to lose matches.

Their next league match is at home to AmaZulu.
