Why is it always sports people being broke after the end of their careers? I think maybe is lack of pension and provident funds. Those things help a lot. We sulk when companies deduct them, but when one retires they come very handy. Look at soccer players, they blow their cash with chicks and booze like nothing, but they forget their they can't play soccer until they're 40s or 50s. When they're 20s and still on their peak, they think it will never end and they'll play until their 30s or think it's too early to start saving, but then sometimes disaster strikes, like injuries or losing form or not getting contracts. It's very advisable to start saving very early on. This message goes to your George Lebese, Oupa Manyisa, Andile Jali, Itumeleng Khune, Siphiwe Tshabalala, Yeye Letsholonyane etc. Stop eating chicks and dying of AIDS like Scara Ngobese, Thabang Lesebe etc. Report Abuse

Skara died on TB, Kuku...When you proceed to read this article he says that he was a 22 year old with R500 000, you couldn't expect him to listen to financial advice, of which is true, only a handful of our soccer players would do such, and at 30 retire and pursue something lucrative to support them until the end of their days Report Abuse

Seems Dr Domkopp knows very little about HIV/AIDS. AIDS is just a syndrome, but one may die of any illness once his/her immune systems has been severely weakened by HIV to an extend that it can't fight for itself. For example, TB is a curable illness, but why is it claiming so many patients? You only need 6 months of TB treatment, maximum, but many people, due to their weakened system, they never make it. It's sad, but we need to keep advising our friends. No one can say I'm immune to all these things. One who dies of AIDS is not stupid, he's just a statistic that we should all learn from. I'm not perfect, so was Scara Ngobese, Botsotso Makhanya or Thabang Lebese, but we need to keep learning to understand these things.
