This is so, so, so scary! The criminals are doing whatever they wish. Last night at 2:30 am a family member of mine, on vacation in KZN was attacked and is currently in hospital where he's being sewn up after being stabbed 19 with a knife. When they ask me if I believe that violent crime is subsiding (according to stats released this week), I say NO. We are being lied to! Report Abuse

The violent barbaric criminals prolly are calling Nathi's bluff, didn't he say there was a reduction in violent crime? I knew that he was lying, he said that to justify his incompetent self, cause if the criminals have reduced their violent criminal tendencies police have just upped theirs hence the massacre and Nathi and the anc regime have blood of the miners in their hands, no amount of massaging stats will change the facts which are glaring at all of us.
No words to describe this. God Please help this nation. To the family may God be with you through this trying time. Report Abuse

So sad. Wasted productive life at its prime (46yrs). RIP. Human life is taken so cheap in SA anyway..
Until something like this happens to our politicians/ law makers, no serious action will be taken. No actions will ever be taken because they have heavy security around them. If they feel threatened, the security is beefed up. We the ordinary and law abiding ones who are refused gun ownership have to live fearing the gun toting thugs.

Condolences to the family of yet another proud South African slain in his own country.
If it is true that the people shall govern,then we must demand a referundum for the people of this country to decide on the return of the Death penalty,at least for violent crimes alone.
The respect for human life by criminals needs to be restored as soon as possible. We need to quit impressing international humanitarians for political points,at the expense of our own citizens.
It looks like it is not enough to leave our well being and that of our children,to be decided by individuals who have no immediate safety worries because they all have body guards 24/7.
The police alone cant fight this murder stigma of S.A. while the Justice and Correctional Departments are always dropping the ball with low sentences and prisoner amnesties for killers.
@Nigerian
The sooner you remove your know all azz from here the better. Like a true hypocrite,you have been singing this song for ages now.I hope you will be heading straight for your own country and Boko Haram,then you will see the real need for self imposed and government curfews.
All the reason to disarm the country: Msholozi, CALL FOR A 3-MONTH GUN AMNESTY!! Then whoever decide to keep his gun and fire it should face a President's discretionary death penalty, to be green-paper-d by parliament and agreed with presiding judges. Otherwise the country is staring at Civil war in the face Report Abuse

The advise we give to Boxers, Karate people or all those who have defensive skills, dont ever try to fight a man carrying a gun, just shelve your boxing skills and abide with them to save your life, these crooks are not South Africans and they dont care, they shoot at anything and anybody. In situation like that, please remain calm and abide with them, don't try to be a hero.

Well said on the point that some people sometimes try to be heroes forgetting that the threats in this country today include heartless spiteful foreigners.
We can try and be politically correct and deplomatic about this things but,the truth in the streets is that some of this foreigners are so spiteful they commit crimes with an astonishing twist of violence that was not seen in S.A. before. Then you get skunks like mr naijaskunk who come here to say things like "your country is on fire" because they wish it was.
