PSL wants answers from NFD over boycott

THE National Soccer League wants defiant NFD clubs to explain why they boycotted their opening league matches at the weekend.

The league's top brass want the clubs to raise their grievances during a PSL executive committee meeting on September 27. "There is a resolution on this matter where it was agreed that the league matches were to start on September 15," said the PSL.

"The chairman of the league (Irvin Khoza) has made a commitment to present their letter (of demands) to the PSL executive. NFD clubs must honour their league games until their issues are discussed by the executive."

NFD club owners said league matches will not be played until their demands are met. NFD clubs and the PSL agreed that the PSL would give them a R115-million grant to run a stand-alone league.
