Olympian Le Clos dad pays up for bar brawl
Bert le Clos agrees to settle damages after a fight with a pharmacist
The father of Olympic star Clad Le Clos has paid R18,000 to settle an assault case, the Star newspaper reported on Friday.
Bert le Clos had to pay damages and legal fees because of an assault at a bar in April 2010. The person allegedly assaulted was Durban chemist Richard Simpson.
The case was meant to be heard at the Pinetown Civil Court on Thursday but Simpson’s attorney, Craig Preston-Whyte said the matter had been settled.
Criminal charges were laid against Le Clos but he was not convicted.
Simpson then filed a civil suit and obtained a default judgment against him last December.
Le Clos told the court he could not pay as he was unemployed and had no money of his own, according to the newspaper.
A warrant of execution was then obtained against his property, but Le Clos did not own any.

Papage, these are news, this man is competing with his son to be famous but he is not doing good. Ask some one to interpret this for you, "ityala aliboli", just bcoz you raped someone in 1998 does not mean we can`t read about it now when they lock you up in 2012.Report Abuse

Why does it have to read 'Olympian le Clos' - got nothing to do with son what the father does. Its only come to light because le Clos (Jnr) is now famous.Same with all the people called Mandela, Zuma, etc. They are not personally responsible for the bad (or good) things their families do.
