Downs looking for consistency

Aug 31, 2012 | Mazola Molefe and Ramatsiyi Moholoa | 9 comments

MAMELODI Sundowns, having lost out on one trophy already this season with their MTN8 exit, will seek to get back to winning ways when they host Maritzburg United on Sunday (3pm).

The Absa Premiership encounter at Lucas Moripe Stadium will be Sundowns' third of the season, and their league campaign has endured quite a rocky start.

Johan Neeskens's men routed Chiefs 4-1 in the Top 8 quarterfinals but have since been sluggish, narrowly beating rookies Chippa United in their league opener. They then lost 2-1 to Chiefs last week.

Now Neeskens, who has promised to quit his job if Sundowns do not pick up any silverware this season, will hope to turn his team's fortunes around this weekend against a Maritzburg side that has won one and drew the other of their two games so far this season.

l In Polokwane on Sunday, Black Leopards look set to continue their solid start to the league season by sending Chippa United back to Cape Town empty-handed.

The two sides meet at 3pm at Peter Mokaba Stadium where Lidoda Duvha collected four points so far.

l SuperSport United will take a short trip across the capital city for a clash against rookies University of Pretoria in a Tshwane derby at Tuks Stadium tomorrow (3pm). AmaTuks have had an ideal start to their maiden Premiership season, collecting four points from two games. - additional reporting by Kgomotso Sethusha

How can we debate football if you make illogical arguments?
You cannot look for consistency under the bet because it's in the wardrobe i.di.ot!!!!!!

it is not time to press panic buttons. the season still in its beginning.yes we lost the first cup, but remember that we are where we are today because of changing coaches day in and day out. it is evident that the coach's system is producing goals. lets give him a chance to work on defence so as to avoid silly conceding of goals. we still miss a player of nyandoro's calibre in the middle of the park.players like roger feutmba, makalakalane, are a gem that is indespesable for sundowns to be a force to reckoned with again. KA BOYELLOW MASANDAWANA!!!

my chomi so true. i blame our inexperiened defence and Wayne Sandilands for our situation.
It is not the coaches fault. Still early days bafwethu

I said it before that BBS will bounce back, why pressing that unusuall button? Every team in the world passes that stage, and i have seen lot teams going through that, and later regrouped and challenge the title.
And the coach knows that too,to coach a player and tell him to do something in the field are two different things, and surely players know too that at some stage, they dont really perform according to the expectations...and guess who's head is on the block?....YES,the Coach..!
