Downs out to scar Chiefs
MAMELODI Sundowns will tonight be looking to exploit the psychological scars they recently inflicted on Kaizer Chiefs as they shape up their Absa Premiership campaign.
In the pick of tonight's league fixtures, the Brazilians visit Amakhosi at Soccer City (7.30pm), looking to ride a wave of momentum after winning their first league match and making progress in the MTN8.
The Tshwane team handed Amakhosi arguably their most humiliating defeat in PSL history when they hammered them 4-1 in the MTN8 recently.
Chiefs have since bounced back from the embarrassing experience, crushing AmaZulu 6-0 in their league match.
That loss, which drew an apology from skipper Itumeleng Khune, has since been put down to lack of composure, failure to get a firm hold on the match.
Beating Chiefs has provided the biggest source of confidence for Sundowns, and coach Johan Neeskens would be happy to see his boys feeding from it.
Hlompho Kekana, the midfielder grafter, has emphasised the importance of collecting maximum points. "The match against Chiefs is an important one for us because we really need the three points to maintain our good start in the league. We are very much aware that they will come hard at us because they want revenge, but I know we'll handle them well. We've already set ourselves a standard by beating Chiefs 4-1 and now we have to maintain it," he said.
However, Chiefs coach Stuart Baxter has been working hard on getting right what went wrong.
TODAY'S FIXTURES:

This is not true, Chiefs were at the receiving end of a 4 - 1 drubbing the hands of Orlando Pirates in 1996. It was again handed out a 4 - 2 chillies at the hands of Santos in 1999, this is just two examples that Chiefs get beaten in heavy score. The reporters want us to believe that Chiefs never lose by 4 goals.

As much as i don't want to wish for this, but chimps are likely to win this one. The way Sundunusa played over the weekend did not give any indication of a team that can pose a serious threat. Their defence was their main problem. The chimps were all over the park in their game against Usuthu. You could see that they were enjoying the game and hungry fro succeess. An interesting season is ahead of us.Bucs 4 life!
