SPORT Ministry officials were left blushing in London last night after learning that one of their posters advertising the SA Olympic and Paralympic teams, actually contained a photo of an Australian athlete.
The offending posterThe poster was on display at Sport and Recreation's Ekhaya "home away from home" base in London, where they hosted and toasted their Olympic medallists with beer and a barbecue.
Swimmers Cameron van der Burgh and Chad Le Clos and the four rowers were all in attendance.
An SRSA spokesperson said the posters were produced by an outside company in South Africa and had not contained the error when the final proofs were approved.
The offending poster was taken down shortly after the error had been pointed out.

By the way, what is the Gauteng MEC for sports doing in London? I presume all the schools have soccer fields, swimming pools, athletics tracks, complete equipment and coaches in Gauteng now if the lazy sod can waste money on trekking around the worldReport Abuse

Why do guys blame the govt for this?? Vele, whites all look the same. The do similar haircuts and put on similar make ups, I am sure I have seen 5 white lookalikes today. Dont blame govt on that.Report Abuse
