THE South African Football Association's refereeing department will review a contentious and drawn-out disciplinary case involving allegations by assistant referee Peter Rabophara against Platinum Stars.
The club was charged last year after Rabophara reported he was struck by an object thrown by Stars fans in a match against Bloemfontein Celtic at the Moruleng Stadium in February.
But Stars denied any objects had been thrown and contested the case for 14 months before finally being acquitted.
But it has raised questions about what happens next when a referee's evidence is not accepted by a disciplinary committee hearing.
