Hunt happy to stay with United
GAVIN Hunt has confirmed that he will be staying on at SuperSport United for another season, at the same time having a dig at the owners of the country's high-profile clubs.
Hunt will be in charge of Matsatsantsa for a sixth successive season, he said after insisting his aim was to finish this campaign as high as he possibly could because added prize money will give him the opportunity to buy more players for next season.
"I'm not going anywhere, the big clubs don't take locals," he quipped. "No, I'm here again."
Hunt has been regularly linked with jobs at Kaizer Chiefs, Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates and in the past discussed with each club the possibility of moving. But none were able to persuade him to leave SuperSport.
SuperSport lie third on the Premier League standings ahead of Saturday's last day of the season.
They could finish as high as second if they can leapfrog Moroka Swallows and earn R5m as runners-up as compared to the R2m that goes to the third-placed finishers.
They would have to win their last league game away at Bloemfontein Celtic and hope Swallows stumble at Maritzburg United.
