Leopards question sudden exit

VLADISLAV Heric, who walked out of Black Leopards this week, sent in his resignation on Tuesday night.

The coach did not accompany the team to Tuesday night's Premier League match against Wits at Bidvest stadium, e-mailing his resignation letter after the goalless draw that earned Leopards a valuable point in their bid to avoid the drop to the First Division.

Leopards spokesman Tendani Thidiela confirmed yesterday that the resignation was received after Tuesday night's game.

"I find it strange that Vladislav rushed to the media regarding his resignation before discussing the matter with us," said Thidiela. "We had not received anything from him about his intention to resign."

He said the club would focus on its two remaining matches, against Jomo Cosmos next Wednesday and Ajax Cape Town on May 19.

Thidiela rejected Heric's claim that management interfered with the team's coaching. "We suspect somebody out there is trying to sabotage us," he said.
