Rodgers is ready to move on from Santos
SANTOS striker Eleazar Rodgers, pictured, says he is ready to make the next move in his career amid interest from the big Gauteng clubs.
The 27-year-old has had a fine season individually despite the relegation struggles of the club and took his goals tally for the campaign to 10 in Sunday's 2-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs.
His haul this season also includes a brace against Orlando Pirates in a 3-0 win, and goals in high-profile fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns and city rivals Ajax Cape Town.
Along with strike partner Erwin Isaacs, former Bafana Bafana striker Rodgers has been assessed by the so-called "big three" of Chiefs, Pirates and Sundowns, and says if their interest becomes firm, he believes Santos will let him leave.
"I think there has always been an agreement that I would move eventually, I certainly have never planned to spend my whole career at Santos," Rodgers says.
"If or when the opportunity arises and negotiations go well, then I would love to test myself at another club.
"At the moment it is about waiting for the right offer and finishing the season well to help Santos stay in the Premier League. That is my most important focus."

Just because he scored against Pirates and Chiefs now he thinks he can join them. Palacios, don't even think of assessing this cow, he is just going to become another bench warmer at Pirates and earns big money for nothing.Report Abuse
