AFTER hanging up his soccer boots, former Bafana Bafana midfielder Teboho Mokoena is now ploughing back into the community of Ekurhuleni through his foundation and academy.
Mokoena formed the Teboho Mokoena Sport and Development foundation in February to help unearth talent in Ekurhuleni.
"When I decided to hang up my boots, the first thing that came to mind was to get involved in development on a bigger scale," he said. "I started by organising some of the youngsters with passion for the beautiful game in Thokoza, which is my home town.
"I have already recruited 33 boys from Thokoza, Katlehong, Palm Ridge, Vosloorus and Alberton who are now part of the academy."
- Don't miss your Legends' Corner tomorrow. We are getting up close and personal with a former Bafana Bafana and Kaizer Chiefs defender.

All of them wants to un earth soccer talents, guys you need to go to school while playing soccer to cover up once you retire, you can't all be caoches or team leaders of some sort. use your money wisely by investing in good education.Report Abuse

Atleast you doing something positive and you need to be applauded for that my man,@Papage it is what he knows and understand best soccer, I believe his first love and he has passion in the sport hence the academy. its rather useless "for lack of better word" to channel your energies in areas where you're not passionate.Report Abuse
