Masilo back at Westerlo
FORMER Bafana Bafana defensive midfielder Masilo Modubi is back with Westerlo in Belgium, where he is hoping to resuscitate his career after being troubled by a hamstring injury.
"I'm grateful to Westerlo for agreeing to give me a chance to train with the team," said Modubi, who was linked to Orlando Pirates at one stage. "I have decided to return to Belgium because they are the ones who gave me exposure after I was loaned out to the club by Chelsea in England.
"Everything is going very well and I'm trying to get myself back in shape. With the season coming to an end, I'm preparing myself for the new one. The future looks bright for me here because besides Westerlo, I also have other first and second division league clubs who have shown interest in me.
"There is also a club in Austria but I can't mention names at the moment."
Modubi last represented Bafana in April 2009 before he was ruled out by a niggling hamstring injury.
"The injury has healed and I want to thank God for granting me the strength during those difficult times. I'm happy that it's all over."
