Leopards have no fear of Usuthu
BLACK Leopards are not intimidated by the recovery of AmaZulu and believe they will have the beating of the Durban club when they meet in a Premiership fixture at Giyani Stadium on Sunday at 3pm.
Leopards will be hoping for a brace against Usuthu after they pipped the Durbanites 1-0 in the first round.
Second-half substitute Luyolo Mapolisa scored the only goal of that match at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on November 20.
AmaZulu have been doing well since the appointment of Roger Palmgren as coach. Palmgren took over when the club was facing relegation.
He has has transformed Usuthu and they are now well inside the top eight after beating Lamontville Golden Arrows 1-0 in a KwaZulu-Natal derby on Wednesday.
"AmaZulu have been playing well under Roger but we are not scared of them," said Leopards boss David Thidiela yesterday.
"We have defeated them in the first round in their own back yard and will repeat the result at home on Sunday. We are desperate for a win to move out of the relegation zone. We need two more victories from our five remaining games.
"This will be our last league match before going to Nigeria next Thursday for the CAF Confederation Cup match against Warri Wolves.
"We want to go to Nigeria in high spirits."
Leopards' defence of Vincent Mabusela and company will have to keep a close eye on Ayanda Dlamini and Thamsanqa Sangweni.
