No offer yet for Pienaar

Apr 13, 2012 | Mark Gleeson | 12 comments

STEVEN Pienaar might be the darling of the Everton crowds again since returning on loan from Tottenham but there has been no approach to make his move permanent.

Everton's Steven Pienaar

The Bafana Bafana captain left Everton seeking greener pastures at Tottenham Hotspur last season, alienating supporters in the process. But after failing to make the team at Spurs he has gone back to Everton where he has re-won the hearts of the fans.

But despite manager David Moyes talking about trying to keep Pienaar past his six-month loan spell, agent Rob Moore says he is still waiting for an offer.

"I don't think much will happen until May, certainly not before we find out whether Spurs qualify for next season's Uefa Champions League or not. If they don't then I think they might be keen to sell but it won't be anything that Spurs will rush into.

"I have not spoken to Steven about it yet. It's still a bit too early."

Pienaar did not endear himself to Everton when he refused to sign a new contract and with six months left, moved to Spurs last year on a four-year contract worth R30m. But he played just 10 games and went on loan to Everton in January.

@Shredder, read carefully before you make such comments. He has a 4 yr contract with Tottenham. The worst that could happen to him is to sit on the bench for 3 yrs...

I doubt you read the story or understand the Pienaar facts.

1. Pienaar is a Spur player (3 years remaining)

2. The fact that this journo wrote this piece is not that Pienaar will be stranded if he doesnt get any offer from Everton. He just feels that thats where he is be suited.

3. Watch Pienaar plays for everton, you will know that he's a shark, PSL is just a swimming pool.
