League DC to whip delinquents into line

THE "Goodman Teboho Sauhatsi" saga took another turn when the Premier Soccer League at the weekend charged Free State Stars for fielding an improperly registered player.

This is despite that Ea Lla Koto were the ones to alert the league after the Department of Home Affairs blew the whistle on "Sauhatsi" by revealing that he was in fact Goodman Musa Magagula.

Stars signed him two seasons ago from National First Division side University of Pretoria.

"We signed the player in good faith from AmaTuks, it would have been a different case had we signed him from some amateur club," said Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena.

The player in question, who has been banned for six months by the PSL, was fired by Stars after the Department of Home Affairs confirmed he was a cheat.

In another case, Kaizer Chiefs have been charged for failure to comply with the media manual after they failed to leave the change room to line up in the tunnel in time as agreed to in a pre-match meeting thus delaying kick-off against Moroka Swallows by about two minutes on February 18.

Amakhosi will appear with Stars for a disciplinary hearing tomorrow.

Chiefs, striker Lehlohonolo "Wagga Wagga" Majoro has also been charged for contravening Fifa laws by revealing his undergarment that had a slogan written on it after he scored. He will appear on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Orlando Pirates will appear before the DC also tomorrow on a charge of spectator misbehaviour and unsporting behaviour.

This was after their supporters threw missiles on to the pitch in the game against Black Leopards at Orlando Stadium on February 15.

Also appearing tomorrow will be Jomo Cosmos who failed to comply with the media manual. Their owner and coach Jomo Sono failed to attend the press conference after their game against Mamelodi Sundowns on February 19.
