Chiefs strike back to draw with Cosmos

A late strike from Lehlohonolo Majoro saved Kaizer Chiefs' blushes as the Premiership title chasers hit back for a late 1-1 draw against Jomo Cosmos in Port Elizabeth.

Mark Haskins scored in the 75th minute, but Majoro found the back of the net with eight minutes left to snatch a much-needed two points from the bottom feeders.

Chiefs surged forward in the dying stages, but failed to find the winner, to the frustration of coach Vladimir Vermezovic who strode on to the field after the match, waving his finger and having a stern word with the match officials.

Amakhosi were left trailing log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns by five points, in third place, as the second half of the league season got under way with a full round of midweek fixtures .

Cosmos, meanwhile, clinched a crucial point but continued to flounder in the relegation zone, ahead of log bottom Black Leopards only on goal difference.
