Cosmos vs Chiefs still set for PE

JOMO Cosmos boss Jomo Sono insists Cosmos's February 15 Absa Premiership match against Kaizer Chiefs will still be played at Port Elizabeth's Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium as initially planned.

Sono was setting the record straight after some websites, including that of the Premier Soccer League, indicated that Ezenkosi would face Chiefs at the Sinaba Stadium in Daveyton instead of the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

"Nothing has changed in as far as our match against Kaizer Chiefs is concerned. We will play the match in Port Elizabeth as planned," said Sono, who also revealed that they will host Bloemfontein Celtic at the same venue on April 18.

While talking about the matches against Chiefs and Celtic, Sono also disclosed that Ezenkosi and the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality are negotiating the possibility of Cosmos playing more games in Port Elizabeth. Cosmos played their first match in Port Elizabeth on October 30 when they lost 2-1 to Orlando Pirates.

"I don't have a problem with playing there because that's like my second home," Sono said.

Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium communications and marketing officer Buli Ngomane said hosting more PSL matches at the venue would be a good idea.
