FOLLOWING the success of Chad le Clos, Swimming South Africa is creating more opportunities for their swimmers to fine-tune themselves ahead of the 2012 London Olympics.

The federation is sending some of their top swimmers to Holland for the Dutch Open Swimming Championships in Eindhoven from December 2 to 4.

The competition is sanctioned by world swimming governing body Fina as an Olympic qualifier.

"Chad has been in terrific form, we are all happy to see him doing so well. He is in a good position to get a podium finish at the Olympics," said SSA president Jace Naidoo.

"We want to see more swimmers doing well like Chad and also qualifying for the Olympics. Chad is now a role model to many youngsters."

Some of the top swimmers heading to Holland include veteran Mandy Loots, Kathryn Meaklim, Vanessa Mohr and Charl Crous.

The SA team will not only be up against some of the best Dutch swimmers but Olympic star George Bovell of Trinidad and Tobago as well as a strong British team will also be there.

Mohr, who received the personality of the year award at the Telkom Swimming SA Aquatic Awards last weekend, has had a phenomenal year and will be looking to make another splash on the international stage.

The Holland-bound team is: Myles Brown, Charl Crous, Vanessa Mohr, Karin Prinsloo, Mandy Loots, Bianca Hauzer, Michael Meyer, Darren Murray, Leith Shankland, Jeanie du Toit, Kelly Gunnell and Kathryn Meaklim.
