A Mamelodi Sundowns soccer player was arrested for drunken driving in Pretoria early on Thursday, police said.
The 25-year-old man was stopped around 2.50am in Sunnyside, Lt-Col Tshisikhawe Ndou said.
He was driving his silver Volkswagen Golf on the wrong side of the road.
Ndou said the driver was unable to speak properly and had difficulty getting out of the car.
“He was smelling of alcohol and was immediately arrested for drunken driving.
"He will appear at the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court tomorrow [Friday].”
