JEFFREY Ntuka, the Supersport United player who was caught speeding on Sunday, pleaded guilty in the Vanderbijlpark magistrate's court.
Ntuka paid a R4,000 admission-of-guilt fine on Monday.
The 26-year-old defender was caught speeding at 188kmh on the N1.
According to Gauteng traffic police Ntuka was arrested near Vanderbijlpark and released on R1000 bail the same day.
Ntuka has played for the national Under-23 side and Bafana Bafana.
He was previously captain of the Under-23 team. He rose to fame when he was spotted playing for the Transnet School of Excellence in the yearly Milk Cup in Northern Ireland in 2002.
He was signed by Chelsea and was loaned to KVC Westerlo in Belgium. He later returned home and joined Kaizer Chiefs.
In 2009 there were reports that Ntuka was battling alcohol abuse. It was reported that he missed training several times while at Chiefs due to partying. He played only for 18 months for Amakhosi before being released by the club.
Ntuka was signed by SuperSport United after he joined the Pretoria team last season.
