Shabba shoots into business

BAFANA Bafana star player and 2010 Fifa World Cup opening goal-scorer Siphiwe "Shabba" Tshabalala has become an entrepreneur

He has invested in four The Fish & Chip Co outlets in Pretoria and Johannesburg.

A year after scoring a memorable goal on June 11 in the opening game of the soccer spectacle, Tshabalala is reaping the rewards.

To celebrate his success he has aligned himself with the franchise group in a promotion that will see all South Africans getting fish and chips worth R25 for R10.

The promotion, which is themed "Relive The Moment", aims to ensure that all South Africans relive the time when the country was in unison.

Sowetan started the campaign on Wednesday, where all South Africans have the opportunity to cut out the coupon that can be redeemed on June 11 at all The Fish & Chip Co outlets country-wide.

Tshabalala said: "I am grateful to have partners like Stelio Nchaniel at The Fish & Chip Co and a management team that saw it fit to ensure that the memory lives on. Sowetan has always celebrated sporting heroes, and their support has been amazing."

Tshabalala hopes his decision to buy into The Fish & Chip Co franchise will inspire the youth of this country who will not only see him as just a soccer player but someone who wants to create employment. His first store will be opened in the next few weeks.
