Tourney for Moilwa

A NEW soccer tournament has been established in honour of the late Prince Oupa Moilwa, who was the son-in-law of King Goodwill Zwelethini.

The Corporate Football League and BMW, where Moilwa was one of the executives, announced yesterday that the tournament will be played at Arthur Bloch Sport Grounds in Mayfair, Johannesburg, on Sunday.

Moilwa, who died of cancer in January, will be honoured in this annual tournament for his contribution to and passion for football.

League chairperson Edwin Bogopa said: "In Oupa Moilwa, we had a great sports personality linked to this league and it was so cruel that he died so young, at the age of 44.

"It is great to honour him with this tournament. His widow, Princess Ntandoyesizwe Zulu, is going to present the trophies."

A total of 20 teams will participate, with household names like Josep Ngake, Abednigo Netshodwe and Thabang Lebese featuring.
