A MPUMALANGA police captain was shot and injured while he was sleeping at his home in Thulamahashe.
Captain Sipho Brian Mnisi, who is attached to Mhala police station in Thulamahashe, was sleeping when he was woken up by a noise at about 1am yesterday and went to investigate.
He surprised burglars who had already broken into his house and was shot.
Mpumalanga police spokesperson Captain Leonard Hlathi said anyone with information should call Mhala police station at 013-773-0331 or himself (Hlathi) at 082-462-0804 .
