Cosmos part ways with Hlalele

JOMO Cosmos and flying winger-turned-wing-back Thabiso "TT" Hlalele have parted ways after the player was placed on the transfer list.

JOMO Cosmos and flying winger-turned-wing-back Thabiso "TT" Hlalele have parted ways after the player was placed on the transfer list.

The club's general manager, Khwezi "Meneer" Masondo, writing on the Ezenkosi website, said they parted by mutual consent. Hlalele still had one year left on his contract.

Cosmos were relegated to the National First Division at the end of the 2009-2010 soccer season and were expecting the departure of a number of senior players from the club.

Hlalele joined Ezenkosi from Black Leopards when both teams were relegated in the 2007-2008 PSL season and helped the team regain its elite league status after only one season in the lower league.

Cosmos boss and head coach Jomo Sono said it had been a pleasure working with the versatile Hlalele.

"It has been great having him at the club. We wish Thabiso all the best in his future endeavours wherever he goes."

Hlalele said he had enjoyed his stay at Cosmos, which was "like a second family to me".

Meanwhile, Moroka Swallows chairperson Leon Prins yesterday confirmed the departure of dashing wing-back Sibusiso Khumalo from the Birds to Mamelodi Sundowns.
