IT was sweet revenge for the Free State Cheetahs when they beat the Western Province 42-21 to lift this year's Coca-Cola Under-18 Craven Week championships in Welkom on Saturday.
Last season, the Free Staters narrowly lost 19-17 to the same team in the final.
WP threw away the game in the second half after enjoying a comfortable 22-11 lead before the interval.
Cheetahs' flanker Johan Goosen capped his brilliant performance with 22 points after scoring a try, four conversions and three penalties.
Other scorers for the Cheetahs were Paul Jordaan, Siphosethu Tom (2), Henco Greyling (all tries).
The WP responded through a try apiece from Craig Barryand and Andreas Dercksen. Devon Williams converted three times and Gavin Hauptfleisch netted three penalties.
