I NEED information from any bishop, priest, reverend, pastor or intelligent reader of Sowetan to unravel the following mystery.
About five decades ago I learnt in geography that the Red Sea is about 200m deep, which is equal in height to a 66-floor building.
When the sea opened a pathway, how did the biblical Moses and his people descend such a depth to reach the sea bed? Furthermore, the Red Sea from coastline to coastline is about 210km wide. This is equal to the distance from Pretoria to Klerksdorp. It takes a car travelling at 140kmh about one and a half hours to cover that distance. It takes the Comrades Marathon runners more than 12 hours to cover 89km. How many days did it take Moses and his people to cross - with luggage, cattle, sheep, goats, chicken, ducks and so on. All this time the walls of the "open sea" were waiting before collapsing.
Moses and his people were born and grew up in Egypt before they decided on the exodus. They were familiar with Egypt's landscape, so why did they choose to cross the Red Sea?
