The Black Stars sent the entire continent into a frenzy with a 2-1 win over the Stars and Stripes of the US at Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Saturday.
Safa chief executive Leslie Sedibe said the Black Stars, led by their inspirational captain John Mensah, were doing a great job in hoisting the African flag high.
"On behalf of the South African Football Association, we would like to congratulate Ghana for a job well done in the World Cup," he said.
"The Ghanaians are making all of us on the continent proud and we hope John and the rest of the team will go all the way in the tournament.
"The support Ghana got in the game against the United States in Phokeng on Saturday was incredible. It's so great to see Africa unite.
"We would like to take this opportunity to wish Ghana all the best in the game against Uruguay on Friday and the rest of the tournament.
"Safa would also like to urge all South Africans and people of our beloved continent to continue supporting Ghana," added Sedibe.
South African soccer great Jan "Malombo" Lechaba is also proud of Ghana, saying the Black Stars are really showing how players should perform in their national colours.
"Ghana have taught us a big lesson that you must always give a 110 percent effort when you represent your country, I hope our players were watching the match against the US," he said.
"This is good for Africa and the development of the sport, many youngsters have adopted the names of Black Stars players as their nicknames.
"I have never seen so many people on the continent supporting the beautiful game and almost everybody is now wearing a soccer jersey," added Lechaba.
