Cheryl dumps Cole surname

CHERYL Cole has ditched her married name.

CHERYL Cole has ditched her married name.

The singer, pictured, is working as a judge on Simon Cowell's star search show The X Factor, and was introduced by Cowell under her maiden name Cheryl Tweedy.

Simon joked with the crowd about her name change as Cheryl - who requested a "quickie" divorce from her England footballer husband Ashley Cole in May - walked into the audition in London on Wesnesday.

Cowell said: "Who would like to hear from Cheryl ... Tweedy? It is, now, isn't it?"

An onlooker said there was a roar of applause for Cheryl and the audience stood up to welcome the Fight For This Love singer. Cheryl, 26, will have laser treatment to remove the "Mrs C" tattoo from her neck. - Bang
