FOUR trainee technicians, members of the South African Roadies Association, l leave for Denmark today for a two-week training programme.

The programme will skill the four young people in managing live events in the country's entertainment industry.

Mpumelelo Dakile, Mamorwa Zwane and Sibusiso Sibanda, all from Soweto, and Lerato Manaka from Tshwane - will spend the two weeks in an on-the-job training programme at Denmark's world famous Roskilde Festival.

They are part of a technical skills enhancement and exchange project between Sara and the Roskilde Festival.

"The technicians are very fortunate to be selected for this on-the-job training programme.

"Each one has earned their place in the exchange programme by excelling in Sara's training programmes," Sara president Freddy Nyathela said this week.

Another four roadies - Kgotlaetsile Kunene and Gaolatlhe Seleke, both from Soweto, Marinki Seakgosing of Tshwane and Solomon Maduna fromSebokeng in the Vaal - left for Norway last week on a similar programme.

The roadies will also spend two weeks in an on-the-job training programme at Norway's Hove Music Festival.

"This kind of exposure and experience in other countries will be invaluable in shaping the young technicians' perspective and outlook on life. The experience they gain will benefit the country immensely," said Nyathela.
